Chipotle Employee Just Gave Guy In Front Of You... →
notthatkindagay:
Since noticing the rice disparity moments ago, you have considered a number of tactics to rectify the situation, including hesitating slightly before advancing to the beans and meat in order to convey your concern; staring intently at the other burrito in hopes of drawing attention to its incongruent size; and simply asking the Chipotle employee for a little more rice.
A truer...

Hmmm. I still think Shanghai Cuisine has the best soup dumplings in NYC. Hand’s down, way better than Joe Shanghai.
I finally washed my jeans!
boredintheburbs:
Last January, I bought a pair of Nudie jeans. I got the raw denim kind, which they tell you not to wash until six months of wear. I waited a year because, well, I don’t wear them all the time. And I just washed them, and now I’m wearing them and they’re wet. You’re not supposed to dry them, but instead, wear them so they form back to your body or some shit, and then hang them...
SUICIDE - FAIL →
I know suicide is no laughing matter, but this just irritates me. The price of the ferries, the choppers, the ambulance, the city workers, and all other expenditures should be totaled and the unfortunate person should be invoiced for the amount. Suicide is selfish. Suicide on public property requiring the intervention of others is even worse.

Yet another reason to hate Citi Habitats. →
The documents belonged to the local office of Citi Habitats, one of New York’s best-known real estate firms. Their clients, whose personal information we found amid the trash, were appalled.
“Just all kinds of information. Things that you never want anyone to know about yourself,” she said. “It was four blocks worth of personal information and it was identity theft waiting...

Money Manager that owes $50mm goes missing... foul... →
Around the same time he mysteriously vanished, hedge fund manager Arthur G. Nadel owed a $50 million payout to some of the investors who had entrusted their life savings to him, an accountant said Monday.
Instead, they learned their money was gone — and now they’re left asking if it was all a bad investment, or if they were scammed.
The search for Nadel entered its sixth day Monday...

Torture and Selective Outrage
jeffmiller:
I believe that it is disgraceful that our country has tortured prisoners in conjunction with the “War on Terror.” However, I think we’re a little too selective with our outrage. Consider this:
According to the report, released [in December 2007] by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), “Sexual Victimization in State and Federal Prisons Reported by Inmates, 2007,” 4.5 percent of...

Obama wants to delay Digital TV switch

WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama is urging Congress to postpone the Feb. 17 switch from analog to digital television broadcasting, arguing that too many Americans who rely on analog TV sets to pick up over-the-air channels won’t be ready.

Text Messages Being Forwarded to Jews By Muslims... →
adamiss:
So apparently this has been going around the last few days - stories of Muslim cab drivers telling people to be careful on Wednesday the 7th.
Sounds like a bit of propaganda to me, but I suppose it’s a reminder to keep your eyes open in our fair city.
As a gentile, I’m curious to know why the messages are only being forwarded to Jews… if it’s dangerous for Jews to...
